So today at church, I went to a different Sunday School class, I chose to go to Eternal Marriage, but the lesson was on Balancing our Lives. And pretty much talking about Self-reliance(which is the VT lesson this month Ironically enough...), and being able to set our priorities and being able to understand those priorities, creating a balance in Work, School, Friends, Family, and Relationships. The Teacher had us play a game... We were to take off high heels if we had any on and any type of shoe that was anything similar to a high heel... (isn't a High heel a High heel anyways?) and we were to stand on one leg as long as we could throughout the whole class period. I pretty much made it the first 10 minutes then lost my balance... cause we weren't supposed to even let our foot touch the ground or even shuffle our one foot to try to keep balance or even touch the chair in front... I think you get the picture... And also during Sunday School... there was a thought that came to me triggered by a quote that was said. "We may be sent to a failing world, but that doesn't mean we are sent to fail in the World." It got me to think that no matter how many times we feel like we fail, we are able to get ourselves back up and try again! And it's always through the Atonement that we are able to make it through our hard times where we feel like we have failed and don't have any idea what to do!
Any ways! The Church came out with the new personal progress program! So totally excited! Cause, you can Get the Medallion Twice now Even if you finished it while you were in YWs and it also gives mothers a chance to do it with their daughters and those that may have converted after YW age a chance to give it a try! :D it's amazing! I want to be able to finish that this year! :D As well as my other goals that I have spiritually! :D I pretty much got a new booklet and going to start some experiences!
I went to the CES Fireside and it was so amazing!! :D Elder Neil L. Anderson spoke tonight. He talked about the Miraculous Plane Landing in the Hudson River last January that was all over the news... and he related it to our spiritual journey. And he talked about how we need to be our own spiritual captains and that we need to return safely and bring more people along with us. And who do we bring with us? First, we get Married, then we bring our families. The ending quote that he said was the one that hit me the most! And I'll just summarize it because I wasn't able to write the whole thing down... :( " Your spiritual Journey is full of Obstacles, delays and malfunctions. As we go through our journey we are able to fulfill those Obstacles and go through those delays as we make mistakes and repent of those things we've done. But as you keep going through your journey, you will hear your name W/ the Gate still open for you to go through." It really got me thinking! It was really the quote that stood out the most to me! Because, there are times where we feel like we aren't important at all, and we may not feel like we are loved at all by anyone, and really the only people that will truly love us forever are: Our families, Our Heavenly Father and our Friends that stick with us! We will make it through life no matter how many times we feel like we fail. But our job isn't to fail, it's to endure during those times where we feel like we are worthless.
