Gratitude and New Calling!

Thanksgiving is this Thursday! And to be honest I can't believe how fast this month has gone! My youngest sister has been 6 for a month on thanksgiving! gah! Both of my sisters are growing up so fast! I wanted to talk a few things of what I'm grateful for! :D

1. My family- They are so Loving and so Supportive in everything I've done in my life. I Love them and so grateful for them! I'm glad and grateful that I am sealed to them for eternity. They have been there through thick and thin. And since moving out and since September, I've kept a open communication with them as much as I can and it's amazing to think that just by doing that it has kept me out of trouble! (just like my bishop mentioned in September)

2. The Atonement: That has been the best thing ever for me in my life especially this past year! I marvel at how much I have changed this past year! And it's quite amazing! I have such a different view on everything! Especially with Christmas and Thanksgiving right in a row! I'm so grateful for what Christ has done for all of us and for myself individually! He knows me so well and he knows what to do when I need things the most! Especially when there are times when I'm having a hard time!

3. The Gospel: Almost the same as the Atonement, but I'm glad that I have the knowledge of the gospel in my life! I have learned so many things of the gospel in my life that I know that it is true! And I know for myself the more that I know of the gospel the more of a responsibility I have to live by those things!

4. The Book of Mormon and other Scripture: I have been reading through the Book of Mormon this year, and that is such an amazing book! I am in 3 Nephi right now and I hope to finish it at least by next year then on to Doctrine and Covenants! I want to see more of what is in there, then back to the Book of Mormon! And hopefully I can get onto a good schedule and keep up with it the best I can and not let myself get too busy!

5. My job: I Love my job and so grateful that I work with such amazing people that are so patient with me! I'm still learning how to do what I'm supposed to do and getting used to things. I sit in front of a computer all day, clean my office(since most of the time I'm all by myself anyways) I prepare court reports for clients whether they are compliant or not with the Courts orders, and I do drug testing. I also do CD(Chemical Dependence) and DV(Domestic Violence) Evaluations. So Clients come in to take some tests, and I score them and give the results of those tests to the Counselors for them to review before their interview. I do other things but it just piles up and up and up. And frankly I like having a lot to do because I don't have to do all of those tasks all in one day! I do different tasks everyday and getting used to what I'm consistently doing all day! :D

6. My Friends: I love my friends and so grateful for them! Especially my Best Friend Amanda Fox! She is so amazing and always there for me! She is basically like my sister! I hang out with her all the time!I simply just love being around her! She deserves so much! And I dearly hope the best for her! I'm so excited to see her sometime this week! I miss her like crazy with her being busy with School! But I love that she's keeping busy, and that she's getting school done for her dreams and achieving them! :D

7. Adoption: Even though, I haven't placed or been formerly adopted. I do know people and have been affect by those experiences that other people have had! I just Love them more and more because of the Sacrifice and Love that comes from Adoption! I dearly support Adoption and I gladly promote Adoption because I think it is a sacred thing to do! Happy Adoption Awareness Month!

8. The Temple: Ever since I received my temple recommend in September I have gone every week with out hesitation! It's been amazing and has made life so much easier! It has blessed my life like non other! I hope to keep going there no matter what obstacles come my way! :D

I got a new calling in my ward(finally!) haha! I am the Ward Chorister! What perfect timing for my favorite time of Year(despite the fact that it's winter... :P)! Christmas Time! Next Sunday, I'm starting Christmas Hymns! My mom has done it before and she said that I could do each of the Christmas hymns in Sacrament meeting at least once by the end of the year! Awesome! I hope to be able to do that! If people are opposed to that! I'm sorry! Here's my opinion and I hope you have an open mind and heart to read and listen!

Thanksgiving for me is the kicker for the Christmas Season! Trust me! It's not forgotten! It's just apart of it! My family is Canadian, so we also celebrate Canada's Thanksgiving which is in October(so my mom starts listening to Christmas music in October), I get 3 turkey dinners before the year ends! One in October, November and Christmas Day! :) Now, What should we focus on when Christmas comes around? Christ's Birth! And what is one of the things we are grateful for at Thanksgiving? Not just the food(and that shouldn't be the main thing I'm sorry!) On Thanksgiving Day, I observe on the gratitude I have for my Savior, Redeemer, Brother, Father, and My God. Because, I wouldn't have all the other things I'm grateful for with out him! We wouldn't have this wonderful Country of ours with out him, we wouldn't have the jobs we have, or our homes, our food, our families, etc. With out him! Everything exists because of Our Heavenly Father! So this Holiday Season, don't focus on "Oh Christmas! You forgot Thanksgiving!" Who ever said that Thanksgiving is forgotten when it's almost just as important as Christmas? We wouldn't be here with out the plan the Christ and Heavenly Father made for us! Look around you! At the wonderful Mountains, the trees, the rivers, the lakes, the Ocean, the beautiful Animals that live upon this beautiful earth exists because of HIM. Think of our Heavenly Father as you eat Thanksgiving dinner with your family!

I'll name one tradition that I love that my family has done the past few years that I will definitely carry on into my future family. When you're sitting around the table for Thanksgiving this Thursday, go around the table and have every person say at least one thing they are grateful for! It creates such a spirit of Gratitude for the rest of the Meal! It also brings so much meaning as to why we celebrate Thanksgiving! :D

I hope all of you make it a wonderful Thanksgiving this Year! And Happy Thanksgiving! :)

Pray for our troops! God Bless America! <3
