Ok... I am going to kinda start up with my pharmacy Technician stuff stuff. I started up again with my Pharmacy Technician hours again at the beginning of the month of May. And I started this month with about 60 hours out of 180 hours of what I need as part of applying to become a pharmacy Technician. And this month before I took my Pharmacy Technician test I ended with 136 hours done out of 180 hours! :D Crazy Stuff and all of that was 6 hour shifts five days a week for 2 weeks this month. Then I took my Pharmacy Technician Test on the 22nd of May. Now let me explain something before I tell you my result of my test and what is going on right now. Pretty much by Law I have to pass the test in order to finish the Pharmacy Technician Application. And if I fail the test I can't do any of my Tech hours till I have passed the test, and also, I have to wait 90 days from the day I took the test to sign up for the test again(if I have failed, does that make sense?). And I also have to get all my hours done, pass the test with in a year. Now my question is... when does the year point start? Does it start from whenever I started my Tech Course at Taylor Drug Pharmacy? Or Does it start from when I get the officiall approval that I can start as a Pharmacy Technician in Training? That is the thing I am confused about...
Well... here are the results of my my test(or what I got whether it was a pass or fail, I get my official results mailed to me or e-mailed I don't remember which? on June 5). You might have guessed or have already known that I have failed the test and I have to wait 90 days to sign up for the test and take it again. Now sadly, I have a hunch that my year ends on or around August 20, 2009. And if I were to be able to sign up for the test again... it would be about August 22nd or so.. and that would be passed that "year mark". but if the year mark starts on when I got approved to start training, then that would be End of September beginning of October. So then I might be able to have the chance to take the Test end of August and pass it! And finish the rest of my hours... So here ya go... but I do have a plan, and I hope it works and hope I get support cause I will be even more dedicated, because I don't want another 1000 Bucks go down the drain like what it probably already has! :P I probably won't do school again this August. :P As much as I don't want that to happen, it will be a sacrafice I will need to make so that I can focus even more on what I need to do to pass the test for the Second time, and then save money to Go back to School next January, and hopefully by then I'll be close to getting my Pharmacy Technician License. And hopefully will have passed the Test by then. Because I don't want another Disappointment on myself.
I have learned from my Failing the Test, and I know what I need to focus on to help me pass. It is Math! :P ugh! But we need it so that if I were to work in a hospital, I would be able to know the equations I need to know incase I need to make I.V.'s or what ever else that I would be doing in the Hospital. Because I do need to know those things for the Test anyways... so I might as well use them. Working in a hospital would be a very interesting place to work at especially where I would have a few patients to take care of and what not, but yet, I would like to work in a pharmacy that is good to their cutomers( Like what Taylor Drug does). For example: At Taylor Drug, if a patient doesn't know what a co-pay went up for some odd reason, we usually try to look and see why the Insurance is being so stubborn, and if they have paid a cheaper amount before and the Insurance is just bein Lame, we usually ask one of the owners to decrease the price of the prescription.(Does that make sense). I've heard that Walgreen's is not very friendly to their customers, I don't really want to get involved with walgreen's because of that. Because I would want to help the patients as much as I can to help satisfy their needs as much as possible, if there isn't anything I can do with the insurance, I would want to apologize and ask the patient to call their insurance and ask why the co-pay is higher, or what ever. (Does any of this make sense?). I Have really like Taylor Drug a lot because of some of the people that come in to fill their prescriptons... I can honestly say that I enjoy some people that come to our Pharmacy! It makes work fun! I guess you can say when I actually have the time to talk with them and have pleasant Conversations! :D That is what I enjoy a lot! of course there are some that drive me crazy! But other than that I enjoy most everybody that comes in! :D People I work with... that is kind of a different question! We are all pretty much Family! It is so much fun sometimes! Of course there are people I don't exactly like working with and I am sure they don't really like working with me as much as I don't like working with them(maybe). But, I do like most of the people I work with! I also work with a Cousin that is learning to become a pharmacist! And He is one of my favorite people to work with for sure! It has been really enjoyable to get to know him a little better(even though my family has had tons of Family gatherings and he has been to most of the big ones!). I get to know him in a different perspective! *Note: I am not sharing names due to Confidentiality, I won't share their names unless I have permission to.* But any ways. My cousin is a really smart cookie! He is on his last year of Pharmacy School and started his first round of 7 Rotations for his last year(Rotations are pretty much where they work at different pharmacies to get some "Volunteer hours" that is pretty much how I think of it because you don't get paid for the full time hours you have to do for six weeks of one rotation...) of pharmacy School! My cousin Graduates from Pharmacy School Next May! I am so excited for him! He will be one amazing Pharmacist! I can honestly say I look up to my cousin for finishing school. It hasn't been an easy road for him, he did it all with an amazing Wife that watches the kids while he is in school, studies, and does work along with that! She is one amazing person! She gives more than she really receives! She Loves and supports my Cousin with all her heart and they both look forward to when he is done with his schooling! :D My Cousin has done his best to be a good Father to his children! :D He may not be home very often, but he does talk about them a lot at work! It is very fun to hear! :D
Ok I think I am done venting about my worries and stresses about becoming a pharmacy Technician! LOL Even though I went off on a different point for a while. I Love my Family very much! And My pharmacy Intern Cousin is one of those I Look up too in my family! :D I enjoy working with him! :D And I hope he knows that! :D Love ya Cuz! :D
